Kara “Sky” McGinty:
I’m just another traveler on this journey of life. God has made me all that I am and blessed me with a loving husband, an excellent family, a good job, and much more than I deserve.
I’ve grown up with my nose in books and words in my head, which eventually led me to a degree in Communications and Philosophy. I adore reading and enjoy writing and I am still trying to figure out how to live out those passions.
My other passions are changing the world for the better and living an intentional, sustainable lifestyle (monasticism, green/organic living, fair trade, nutrition and fitness).
I believe that two things are eternal: God and people (souls). I am trying to apply that to the way I live.
The Sky’s the Limit:
This web journal, blog, or what-have-you is an outlet for my contemplations and writings. It’s fairly simple, hopefully thought-provoking, maybe once in a while even inspirational.
The main theme is: Living Life. Living: authenticity, passion, faith, intentionality, peace, abandon, simplicity, action, and love. Though I do reserve the right to post on random topics from time to time it’s almost impossible to truly stray from the topic of Living Life.
Also the comments are open presently so that perhaps we can get some conversations started on the topics shared here. So, feel free to say what’s on your mind. [Provision: If comments are disrespectful they will be deleted and will most likely lead to comments being closed altogether.]
Thanks for reading, hope to hear from you!
A Franciscan Benediction
May God bless you with discomfort, at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger, at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom, and peace.
May God bless you with tears, to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and turn their pain to joy.
And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.
Amen.
